Short answer first, because you are probably standing outside deciding. We do not sell pizza by the slice. Every pizza at Culto Italiano is a whole 12 inch pie, starting at $15.
That is not a policy we made up to be difficult. It is how Neapolitan pizza works, and once you see the reason it usually stops being annoying. This page explains why, what a whole pie actually costs compared to slices, and what to order here if you want something you can eat with one hand.
We've Worked With the Best People

Why Neopolitan Pie Can't Sit Unde a Slice Warmer
NEW YORK SLICE IS BUILT TO SURVIVE
Firmer crust, lower moisture, a longer bake. It holds for an hour under a heat lamp and reheats to order. That whole format exists so a counter can serve fast without cooking to order.
NEOPOLITAN SLICE IS BUILT FOR THE OPPOSITE
It bakes in about 90 seconds in a very hot wood-fired oven. The center stays soft and slightly wet on purpose. Leave it out for fifteen minutes and it collapses. There is no version that holds on a counter for an hour, so no serious Neapolitan kitchen cuts one into slices and waits for a customer.
STYLE HAS ACTUAL RULES
The True Neapolitan Pizza Association in Naples publishes the specification for the style, covering the dough, the oven, and the finished pie. Slice service does not fit inside it.
IN NAPLES, THE PIE IS PERSONAL
A Neapolitan pizza is a single serving, often eaten folded or with a knife and fork. It is not a communal pizza that gets divided among four people at a counter.

What a Whole Pie Actually Costs You
This is the part that surprises people, so here are the real numbers.
CHEAPEST PIE IS $15
Marinara at $15 is San Marzano tomato, garlic, fresh oregano, basil, and olive oil. No cheese. It is the oldest pizza in Naples and it is the least expensive thing we bake.
MARGHERITA IS $17
San Marzano tomato, fiordilatte di Napoli, Parmigiano Reggiano, basil, and imported olive oil.
ROUGHLY TWO SLICES
A 12 inch Neapolitan pie is about the same amount of food as two large New York slices. It is made to order rather than reheated, and it costs about the same as buying those two slices.
So if you walked in wanting a couple of slices for lunch, a whole Marinara for $15 is the same meal, hotter, for similar money.
If You Want Something You Can Eat While Walking
We have plenty of these. They are just not slices.
PANUOZZO SANDWICHES FROM $18
Homemade pizza dough bread, baked and then stuffed. Paesano at $18 with eggplant parmigiana. Polpetta at $18 with our homemade meatballs. Di Parma at $20 with prosciutto and arugula. Steak sandwich at $22 with slow-cooked brisket and provola.
CALZONES FROM $18
Tronchetto di Spinaci at $18 with spinach and ricotta. Calzone al Forno at $20, baked. Calzone Napoli at $22, the fried one, stuffed with ricotta, ham, and smoked mozzarella.
FOCACCIA FROM $14
Focaccia Classica at $14 with rosemary and Maldon sea salt. Focaccia Vesuvio at $20 with burrata, arugula, cherry tomatoes, and olives.
All of these are easier to carry than an open pie and they hold their texture far better on the walk. Prices for everything are on our menu.
SPLITTING A PIE BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE
This is the honest workaround if you came in wanting two slices each. Order two different pies, cut both, and share. You get four flavours between two people for around $32 and everything is fresh out of the fire.
ORDERING AHEAD
Because there is no pizza by the slice waiting under a lamp, walking in cold means a ten to fifteen minute wait. Call (201) 648-0111 or order on Toast twenty minutes before you want to eat and there is no wait at all.

Where Slices Fit in Bergenfield
If you specifically want a New York style slice, downtown Bergenfield and the South Washington Avenue strip have counter service pizzerias that do that format well. We are not trying to compete with them and we will happily point you up the street.
We do one thing. If you want to know what a pizza in Naples tastes like, that is what is coming out of our oven at 49 W Church St.
Who is Making It
Corrado Cervelli was born in Naples and grew up in his family's pizzeria there. He moved to the United States in 2017 and opened in Bergenfield at the end of 2022 with Angelo Riccio and Giovanni Massaro.
The dough is hand stretched and slow fermented. San Marzano tomatoes, fiordilatte di Napoli, Gaeta olives, and anchovies from Cetara are imported. Mozzarella and pasta are made by hand in the kitchen here.
People drive in from across Bergen County for it, which tells you the whole pie format has not put anyone off.
What to Expect When You Walk-In
NO SLICE COUNTER
Nothing sits pre-baked under glass. That means no pizza by the slice, and it also means nothing you order has been waiting.Ordering direct is the option we prefer, since it goes straight to our kitchen.
10-MINUTE WAIT
The bake is 90 seconds but there is a queue in front of you at busy times. Friday and Saturday evenings are the longest.
NO INDOOR EATING AREA
We have a small outdoor seating area that opens in good weather. Most people take the pie away, and that is how the shop is set up.
ORDER AHEAD
Toast and the phone both work. Twenty minutes of notice removes the wait entirely. This is the single best thing you can do if you were hoping to grab and go the way a slice counter lets you.
Hours and Timing
We are open Monday through Saturday from 12pm to 9pm and Sunday from 12pm to 8pm. Online ordering on Toast closes around 8:45pm and around 7:45pm on Sunday.
The bake is about 90 seconds. A walk-in order is usually ready in ten to fifteen minutes at quiet times, longer on Friday and Saturday evenings.
There is no indoor dining room. We have a small outdoor seating area that opens when the weather allows, which is the best place to eat a Neapolitan pie that is not our counter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you ever sell single slices? No. Every pizza is a whole 12 inch pie made to order. We do not pre-bake pies and hold them, so there is nothing sitting to cut from.
What is your cheapest whole pizza? Marinara at $15, with San Marzano tomato, garlic, oregano, basil, and olive oil. It has no cheese and it is genuinely the traditional Naples pizza.
Is one pie enough for one person? Yes for most adults. A 12 inch Neapolitan pie is a single serving in Naples and it is portioned that way here too.
How long is the wait if I walk in? The bake is about 90 seconds and most orders are ready in ten to fifteen minutes. Weekend evenings run longer, so call (201) 648-0111 ahead if you are in a hurry.
Do you serve after 8pm? Yes. We are open until 9pm Monday through Saturday and until 8pm on Sunday, with online ordering closing about fifteen minutes earlier.
Can I get a pie cut into slices? We can cut it for you before it goes in the box. It still needs to be eaten quickly, so cutting does not change the timing.
What should I order if I want to eat it in the car? A calzone or a panuozzo. Both are enclosed, they travel far better than an open pie, and neither one needs a plate.
